Our remarks
We can offer you this very good to excellent vintage BLANCPAIN FIFTY FATHOMS in stainless steel on a tropic rubber strap with a stainless steel pin buckle.
Originally developed for the French Navy based on a scatch and happily executed by BLANCPAINs back then CEO Jean-Jacques Fiechter, an avid amateur diver himself. The FIFTY FATHOMS is one of the original dive watches, which needs to be mentioned in one breath with the also legendary Submariner.
The 41mm watch case has a matted finish, mostly know and found on the the military variants like the Mil-Spec or Aqualung.
Great original condition with nicely aged luminous mass on the dial and the hands, the bacelite bezel has some cracks.
Silver printed BLANCPAIN FIFTY FATHOMS logo on the dial togehter with the Rotomatic Incabloc print in the lower half of the dial.
Powered by the R.570 caliber with a power reserve of 38 hours and protected by a soft iron cap between the movement and the caseback to ensure its anti-magnetic characteristics.
A rare and highly recommended dive watch who shouldn`t be missing in any collection.
