In 2001, CARTIER launched the Roadster watch line, which was inspired by the automotive world of the 50s and 60s. At this time, the first sports cars with rapidly curved bodies came onto the market, the “roadsters”. The design of the Roadster watch takes up the silhouette of these vehicles. The magnifying lens of the date display is reminiscent of the air intake opening on the hood. The grenade-shaped crown is reminiscent of the cooling fins of some vehicles. The screws located at the corners of the housing are a reference to the vehicle's headlights
With its tonneau shaped case and roman numerals this unusual chronograph is made to impress and one great watch.
